I need someone to write me a tiny client application. It will do the following: run as a daemon (could be thru sleep() function) wake up every minute and connect to 5 different servers, disconnect and go to sleep again for each connection with a server it must fork (i.e it needs to be multithreaded) servers must be in array (i will add more later) arbitrary timeout is a must basically, i need to know if a certain server is up and running. if you have a better solution let me know. most of the parameters should be constants: timeout, server port, sleep time, etc. all output can be to STD. you can use any external socket classes or whatever. but i need to be able to install it on my server (RHE3). i can give you access to the server.
